Gloucester Panoramas These are Archival Ink Jet Prints in panorama format that I sell as a Limited Edition. They're cool and very affordable. Walker Creek Press A small press started by yours truly for reasons beyond comprehension, except that we published my Gloucester Photographs book in October 2001. Book Reviews Reviews I've written for various on-line sites. Includes Signs & Relics by Sylvia Plachy; Chaos by Josef Koudelka and Migrations by Sebastiao Salgado. People Jay Allison Jay is truly one of the greatest radio producers of all time. Life Stories is an award-winning series of portraits of ordinary citizens-- not newsmakers, but the rest of us-- from small towns, rural areas, and urban neighborhoods usually overlooked by mainstream reporting. They are stories about the ways we live our lives, the things we believe in, where we find our poetry. Dirck Halstead The Digital Journalist is a very active and interesting place to hang out. Dirck attracts lots of good people to write and exhibit their photographs. Elsa Dorfman A great site showing some of Elsa's wonderful 20 x 24 Polaroid portraits, and links to resources for portrait photographers. Millicent Harvey This site has Missy's most recent work, all done with a Holga camera. I love this work. It's very personal and deeply moving without being self indulgent or overly sentimental. Jeff Jacobson Perhaps there's no way of telling who the first photographer was to use open flash in a deliberate and consistent way. Having said this (and for the record) Jeff Jacobson is our man. You might want to find a copy of his first book, My Fellow Americans, and you'll see what I mean. There are not many photographers who can articulate color in a photograph as well as Jeff. This is a small sample of his current work. The Kitchen Sisters Two of the most talented people in radio and dear friends. Visit their site, send them money, listen to their work. Susan Meiselas Susan is without question one of the most dedicated documentary photographers working today. This site is about her new book on Kurdistan. It takes a while to load, but well worth it. And don't forget to buy the book! Errol Morris The brilliant filmmaker and friend, whose work is always a surprise, keeps up the good work with his web site. Check it out. Seth Resnick Seth is a commercial photographer and way ahead of everyone in terms his understanding and use of the Web. There's lots of people skiing behind him in the rather large wake created by his site, which has lots of useful information for all commercial photographers. Sandy Tolan Without question one of the finest reporter/writers I've had the pleasure to work with. He's a close friend, amazing teacher at UC Berkeley J-School and works in radio, print, and books. Alan Weisman One of the finest journalist working today, wordsmith Alan Weisman's book, Gaviotas: A Village to Reinvent the World, is a passionate tale about what's possible in the world. You can find this book and most of his other work here. Places Center for Creative Photography One of the great collections of photography on the planet (Yes. They collect my work.) Dewi Lewis Publishing Certainly one of the best publishers of photography books around today, Dewi Lewis is passionate about photography with a kind of dedication and committment that is hard to find in the world publishing. E.P Levines For photo equipment, digital stuff and photo supplies, this is the place and Steve Brettler's your man. I've been doing business with Steve for about 25 years and he doesn't look any older to me. Jazz @ Lincoln Center I like knowing where Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra are playing and when. This site also has some great stuff about Jazz. MacWorld It's always useful to know how far behind I really am. Never miss an issue. MIS Associates Inc I use their Quadtone Inks to make archival ink jet prints. Bob Zeiss is serious about archival inks, both in color and black & white. Check him out. NancyScans I have all my drum scans done at NancyScans. These people are also serious about their work and they get it right every time. Definitely check them out. Photo District News Online Informative about trends in commercial photography. Stock Boston Nobody has done it better. StockSolutions A great place to buy archival inks and papers and get the latest info on ink jet printing. Transom.Org This is a wonderful site created by Jay Allison for radio journalists. It's content driven and very interesting. Similar to The Digital Journalist, only radio folks seem to like to communicate with each other more often and more clearly than photographers. ZoneZero Pedro Meyer has done a fantastic job with this site, using the web with impeccable taste to display photographer's work. More to come
